What is this all about?

Maybe you stumbled on this site by accident. Maybe you found a camera with a sticker on it directing you here. Whatever the reason, you're probably curious as to what this project is all about.

The Elevator Speech

Disposable Photo is an art project and social experiment started by Dan Hauk. The idea is to bring residents of a community together through the use of anonymous photography. Cameras are placed in public for people to find and use. The photos are then uploaded onto this site for everyone to see and track.

I want to participate!

Great! If you’d like to place a camera in your area, please get in touch to discuss the details with me. There will eventually be a search function to look for placed cameras in your neighborhood, but for now just check out this list, find a camera, take a picture, and tell your friends!

A big thanks…

I’d like to extend a huge thank you to the financial backers who made starting this project possible:

  • John N Hall
  • David Hauk
  • Matt Hauk
  • Zachary DeLong

If you’d like to donate a few bucks, or even a camera, to help keep this going, just let me know. All donations and funds will be used strictly for site hosting, cameras, and film development.
